Something for our horse lovers

Little girls and horses seem to go hand in hand. My 4 year old daughter has discovered My Little Pony and is crazy for Pinky Pie. What girl doesn't love horse right?
Knowing this to be true, we created some fun horse brads for our horse lovers and today Nicole from our design team has a beautiful altered project to share with you.

Nicole added the fun horse shoe and horse brads to this altered frame she created with photos of her children and a beautiful quote.

The horse brads come in a mix of white, black  and brown

here's a closer look at the brown horse brad nestled in the ribbon

Altered frames make great gifts for family members. Thanks to Nicole for sharing her project with us today!

Something for the Scrapbookers

Today we are sharing some inspiration for our scrapbookers. It's fun to incorporate brads  and eyelets into your scrapbook pages and using them in unique ways like Nicole has shown us here in her layout really makes for a fun layout. Let's take a look at

Two Silly Monkeys

Can you spot how many of our sock monkey brads Nicole used?

Here's a hint

Nicole actually incorporated several of our brads for this fun layout. I really love the way she used the retro glasses brads on her photo. This made for a really fun layout.

Here's today's Eyelet Outlet supply list for this layout

We'd love to see what you're creating with your Eyelet Outlet stash. Please share your images on our Facebook fan page here.

Start to Finish: Projects you can create!

Today we're kicking off a monthly feature called Start to Finish: Projects you can create! Each month we'll be posting a project created with our products and providing step by step directions for you to re-create this same project at home.

Let's get started with Designer Kristen Berc's Start to Finish project!

I created this simple but pretty card using a gorgeous 14mm white pearl brad!

Here are the steps to recreate this card:

Step 1: Score a piece of 5x10 inch solid cardstock at 5 inches.

Step 2: Fold cardstock along score line and flatten fold with bone folder.

Step 3: Trim a piece of patterned paper to 5x2.75 inches and a second piece of patterned paper to 5x1.25 inches.

Step 4: Punch a border along one edge of the 5x1.25 inch strip of patterned paper.

Step 5: Adhere punched strip of patterned paper to card front.

Step 6: Adhere 5x2.75 inch piece of patterned paper to card front, slightly overlapping the punched strip of paper.

Step 7: Trim a piece of lace to 5 inches. Treat lace ends with glossy accents to prevent fraying, and adhere to card front.

Step 8: Choose a third piece of patterned paper and punch out or electronically die cut 1 medium and 2 large flowers.

Step 9: Slightly dampen punched flowers with water (or mist if desired).

Step 10: While flowers are still damp, curl the petals of 1 large flower down around a paint brush handle (or skewer, or other similar object). Let dry.

Step 11: Curl the petals of the other large flower, while still damp, upward around the paint brush handle and let dry.

Step 12: Curl the petals of the medium sized flower, while still damp, upward around the paint brush handle and let dry.

Step 13: When completely dry, assemble flower layers as shown (staggering the petals), punch hole in center, and attach a gorgeous 14mm white pearl brad.

Step 14: Place foam tape or dimensional glue dot on back of flower and adhere to card front.

Step 15: To finish the card, trim a scrap of the solid cardstock to 3.25x0.75 inches and cut a notch out of one end. Use stamp, rub-on, or stickers to add desired sentiment, then adhere sentiment strip to card front using foam tape.

Now it’s your turn! If you give this a try, we would love to see your creation on our facebook page!

A little flower power to kick off the week

Today we are sharing a little flower Power card created by design team member Kassidy.

We love this colorful card with a perfect message. Alone or inside a die cut flower, these peace brads are a fun embellishment to create with.

Designer's Tip: A little distress ink and white gel pen adds dimension to simple die cuts like the flowers I used for this card.

Our peace brads are available in this variety of colors as well as gold and silver. Click the image to go to the store.

For more fabulous inspiration visit Kassidy's blog Inking it Up Crazy.

Have a great day!
