Shell-ebrate

It's Kim from Katydid Cards using one of Eyelet Outlet's new products, this adorable turtle.  I made two versions of the same card.

Here's the first version:

This is an angled gate-fold card with a belly band.  The base is cut from Sahara Sand card stock which has been layered with digital patterned paper from The Fishing Hole collection by Kristin Aagard.  I embossed the striped paper with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder...it works nicely with the turtle.

The belly band is cut from Soft Suede card stock and run through a crimper.  The center medallion is layered with a blue circle where I typed the greeting using the text to path option in my Silhouette.  Next, a circle of green, a scalloped circle of Soft Suede and the smallest circle of Sahara Sand where my little turtle sits.  Isn't that turtle cute?  Here's a picture of the card without the belly band.

And here it is, fully opened:

The second version uses all the same papers, but this time I created a split front and popped the patterned paper with craft foam.

A thin scalloped border was added as the opening just needed a little something extra.  This card doesn't open...you flip it over to write a personal message.  And it was an opportunity to use another turtle.

So, which version to you like better?  I'd love to know what you think.

Who provided the inspiration for these cards?  Katy did!
